Atento,
a company of Telefonica Group (Spain), started operations in
Monterrey, Mexico during 2001.
The facilitiy has 600 telemarketing positions, and more than 1,000
employees.

Although the general supervision of the construction building was
done by a Third Party hired by Atento Headquarters in Miami, FL,
what is called "tropicalization" (fine tunning by someone local),
Hiram Garcia reviewed completely the whole project, in order to
propose important changes that helped to establish a more
functional facilities and a rapid implementation of the process
involved.

Main
modifications of the building included:

Parking area increased by
140%, in order to meet the minimum standard for the particular city
requirements for the telemarketing industry (the previously planned
parking area was already approved by the city)

Human Resource's offices were moved to a different area, which allowed
a better organization and recruitment control for new applicants.

since USA, Mexico City and Monterrey have different Human Resources
